Key Physical Aspects of Modern Survival Training
If your training approach is not designed around stress inoculation and sensory deprivation then regardless of how well you think you are prepared you will decompose in a real life situation. One element in training Law Enforcement and Military that is not normally abundant is time. If you allow the brain to perceive multiple sensory inputs in the building stages of a specific skill-set, the time required for neuromuscular conditioning will be increased greatly. If the techniques being taught are governed by variables present in Urban Warfare such as attacker’s size, speed, conditioning and skill then you are preparing to ultimately lose in a real life scenario, because these are variables that are not commonly known, and extremely difficult to pre-determine. If the tactics being taught do not allow for some form of universal application then most undoubtedly you will come across a situation that you are not prepared for.
Key Psychological Aspects of Modern Survival Training
There needs to be an adequate amount of time spent on training the mind and body independently. This is essential in most building stages. Later the mind and body will be trained together for full cohesion. Once again if building stages are not conducted with as minimal inputs into the brain as possible, knowledge gained and skills built will be short term. If one’s physical skill is not compatible with their mental skill a false sense of security will be subconsciously established.
